Healthcare opportunities are expected to grow 18% by 2026, making healthcare the fastest growing industry to work in today. What this means for job seekers is that starting a career in healthcare will benearly effortless once getting the required qualifications for whatever profession you’re aiming for. But before you get to that point, you have to choose what healthcare profession you want to pursue. We have rounded up the easiest healthcare professions to get into, taking into consideration the level of training required and the job outlook for each. You can complete the training for these positions in two years or less (some as little as two weeks) and land a job fairly quickly in India.

Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)

CNAs assist patients with personal cares in a wide variety of settings including home health, long-term care, rehab, clinic, and hospital settings. A great CNA possesses compassion, patience, and understanding, and the rest of the skills are taught in a course that averages two weeks (and many facilities offer the course to qualified applicants free in exchange for a commitment once completed). Wages vary by industry and region. Keep in mind that many nurses begin their careers as CNAs and continue their education while working.

Phlebotomist

Phlebotomists draw blood from patients of all ages for testing and other purposes and are often hired by clinic and hospital laboratories. Some people find that they’re too squeamish for phlebotomy work, which requires accessing veins and handling blood and bodily fluids, so an interest in the human body – and not being squeamish about needles and blood – is key for success. Some facilities train their phlebotomists on the job while others require phlebotomy certification in advance, which can be obtained in a 1-2 semester program at a number of colleges. Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)

CMAs practice primarily in the clinic setting, registering patients, rooming patients, taking vital signs, giving immunizations, and supporting the charge process. Most CMA programs can be completed in just one year and projected job growth is much faster than average at 29%, which means getting your first offer should be relatively easy.

Paramedic

Job growth for paramedics is strong at 15% making it a viable career option for those interested in getting into the healthcare field in a hurry. It’ll take you a year or two to become a paramedic, which can be accomplished through either an Associate’s Degree program or an accredited on-the-job training program. The best paramedics thrive on adrenaline and do well under pressure.

Medical Records Technician

It’s easy to overlook the behind-the-scenes healthcare careers, but there’s great opportunity to join an always-growing industry with great hours when you consider these options. Medical Records and Health Information Technicians can generally earn their degree or certificate in two years or less. Outlook is good at 15% growth. Being able to work well alone in a quiet environment and attention to detail is critical for these professionals.
